Samm Chocano1. In general, how was your experience appearing on Catfish?

A. My experience appearing on Catfish was both amazing and awful. It's amazing because I've been such a big fan of Catfish since season 1 episode 1. When I got the callback to be on the show it was like a dream come true, but it's awful at the same time because of what they did to my story. I'm the one who sent in the application/email to Catfish. I'm the one who wanted to see if I was being catfished. MTV said my pictures looked good enough to seem fake, so they made me be the catfish, they made me say that I was dating others when I never was. And it sucks to be the bad guy. It sucks that the negativity is on me.

2. If you had it to do over, would you still appear on the show?

A. If I had to do it over, yes I would still appear on the show because I love Catfish! And also I'm so lucky to be a part of the show because my story got picked out of so many!

3. How has your life been impacted or changed by the show? (positively or negatively)

A. My life has been impacted both positively and negatively - positively because people are excited to see me on the show and I come from such a small town that everyone is so excited that someone from our small town is going to be on TV. My life has been impacted negatively because people assume the story is real and they think I'm this heartless bitch and they give me major negativity. They don't understand that me and Steven both only want to be friends and that if we were in a relationship, it would never work out. And I would lose him. And I'd rather keep him as a friend forever than lose him as a short term boyfriend.

4. What's new in your life since the show or what are you doing now?

A. What's new in my life is that I'm working two jobs now, trying to save for college and become a wrestling coach. Other than that nothing is new. Me and Steven still talk from the moment we wake up until the moment we fall asleep. He's my forever best friend.

5. What tips or warnings do you have for others in online relationships?

A. Tips I have for others in online relationships is that, don't get too invested in someone online. In person, that person is a stranger to you. It's completely different online from reality. So don't lead on anyone or invest in anything too deeply until you have met that person and know you have a true and real connection.

6. Is there anything else you'd like to tell your Catfish fans?

A. Anything else I'd like to tell my Catfish fans... Well I hope you're my fans and not haters! I hope you understand the TRUTH and my real story. And here's my real story on how everything lead to Catfish: a year ago, I had just gone to girls wrestling state championship. I lost my final match and it was the most devastating thing ever. I went on Twitter and tweeted how sad I was, then I get a message from a random guy asking if everything is okay. Most guys message me saying "hey lets chill" or "your hot hmu", so for a guy to ask me about how I'm feeling, was different. So I replied and gave him my number. He texted me and he told me he was a wrestler so for a week straight we texted nonstop about wrestling! We started to get to know each other. But in the midst of all that, I got back together with my boyfriend of 4 years. I told Steven about him, and I would tell him what went on. My boyfriend of 4 years started to get abusive... hitting, kicking, throwing things, choking, and almost having me go to the hospital. I would tell Steven about these incidents on a daily basis. Steven hated it so much, and I hated to disappoint Steven by being with such a horrible person... So eventually I told Steven that I broke up with him. But it wasn't true. I stayed with my boyfriend for two more months until I couldn't take it anymore. We broke up on Valentines Day 2015. I did tell Steven when we filmed Catfish. But the catfish story they aired isn't close to what the true story is. Me and Steven have always been best friends and not really romantic. And that's why on the show I said we were friends but they made it seem like a horrible thing, but I expect to be best friends with him for life. :)

7. Who would win if you and Steven wrestled?

A. Actually Catfish producers bugged us for SO long to get them a wrestling video of us so they could feature it. So I flew out to Texas to see him and we made one! But they didn't feature it on the episode!! He won alot of the time but because he's 40 pounds heavier than me! But I won some of the times too. :) It was a good match. Ha ha.
